Morant’s Curve

A famous section of the Canadian Pacific Railway located in the Bow Valley Parkway between Banff and Lake Louise Alberta.

Taken on a particularly frosty morning the ambient temperature was ‑36C before wind chill; despite this the Gigapan Epic Pro functioned beautifully.

Canadian Pond Hockey

Hockey Tournament on the frozen Lake Louise.

Mount Fairview is on the left, Lake Louise glacier in the center and the BeeHive on the right; The Château Lake Louise is behind.

This stitched panorama was one of the first multi-frame multi-row panoramas I took with the Gigapan Epic Pro.

I admit that the device worked quite well despite the ‑36 Celsius temperatures of that morning.

Image Scale

It is hard to get a sense of the scale of this photo in terms of resolution.

It has been printed for a charity auction as large as 44 x110 inches with outstanding detail in the output.

How large is large? See the following post for a sense of scale — Large Format Imaging, how large is large?

Castle Mountain Winter

A classic icon in Banff National Park.

This mountain has had many names over the years however it is probably best known as “Castle Mountain”.

The view from the Trans Canada Highway pull out is spectacular however I shot this image from further down the highway to change up the angle on a classic image.
