The lava is relentless from Kilauea on the big island of Hawai’i.
Taken from the end of the Chain of Craters road in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.
I have a shot of this exact sign from 1991 and at that time the sign was actually on the road, I could not find in in 2015, and I imagine that when I go back again in the mid 2020s if they open this part of the national park, this terrain does not exist anymore after the most recent eruptions.
This time around its about 700 meters in on the road; very dynamic place.
